Statement from Rep. Bobbie Harder on Minnesota Supreme Court Ruling

Representative Bobbie Harder (R–Henderson Twp.) issued the following statement reacting to this morning’s Minnesota Supreme Court decision:

“Today’s ruling undermines the hard-won protections for female athletes, who may now be forced to compete against individuals who were born male. Female athletes work tirelessly for their opportunities, and they deserve a fair playing field. We must ensure our guidelines protect that fairness. I will continue advocating for clear and sensible policies that respect female athletes and honor common sense.”

Both House File 12 and House File 1233 were introduced by Republicans in the prior legislative session to provide clear protections for female athletes and ensure fairness in competition. These bills remain ready for consideration when the Legislature reconvenes this coming February.
