Rep. Wiener Gaveled in for 2026 Legislative Session

St. Paul- The 2026 Legislative Session officially started today, and Representative Mike Wiener (R-Long Prairie) was one of 134 House legislators who gaveled in today to convene session. The Minnesota House is still tied 67 to 67 meaning both parties will face the same challenges and roadblocks as last year with the tie.

“I am glad to be getting back to work and representing our district and communities,” said Rep. Wiener. “This year it is important that we work to stop the fraud and make sure that hard working Minnesotans don’t lose any more money to fraud.”

Rep. Wiener will still sit on the energy committee and the taxes committee this session.

“My goal is to make Minnesota more affordable and help families build stable, secure futures. That means tax cuts to address the rising cost of living, supporting small businesses that create local jobs, and ensuring parents can afford childcare, healthcare, and housing. Families should not have to choose between paying their bills and planning for the future. By focusing on practical, common-sense solutions, we can ease financial burdens and make our state a place where families want to live, work, and raise their children.”
