Rep. Rymer Statement on Minnesota Supreme Court Ruling in Powerlifting Case 

Representative Max Rymer, R-North Branch, issued the following statement reacting to this morning’s Minnesota Supreme Court decision: 

“For generations, women and girls have fought to preserve the rights guaranteed under Title IX. Today’s decision undermines those protections and threatens fairness in girls’ sports. Minnesotans agree that girls deserve a safe and equal chance to compete. Both House File 12 and House File 1233 would have clarified the issue at hand; however, these bills were voted down on party line votes. I remain committed and will act next session to ensure girls’ sports remain for girls.”

Both bills remain “on the table” and ready for action when the House reconvenes on February 17, 2026.
