Rep Roger Skraba Statement on Mining Ban Repeal

Saint Paul- Representative Roger Skraba (R-Ely) released the following statement following federal law makers repealing the 20-year mining ban near Boundary Waters canoe area wilderness. 

“This is very exciting news for the Iron Range. We have been working to repeal this ban for many years, and today’s action opens the door to new investment, good-paying jobs, and long-term economic stability for our communities, while also ensuring the stringent rules and regulations for mining remain in place. Responsible mining strengthens our local economy, supports families and small businesses, and ensures Minnesota can lead in providing the critical minerals our nation needs.”
