Rep. Natalie Zeleznikar Statement on Mining Ban Repeal

Saint Paul- Representative Natalie Zeleznikar (R-Frendenberg Township) released the following statement following federal law makers repealing the 20-year mining ban near Boundary Waters canoe area wilderness. 

“The repeal of this ban is a major win for the Iron Range. It allows our region to responsibly develop its natural resources, create family-sustaining jobs, and grow our local economy. This decision brings renewed opportunity to our communities and reinforces the Iron Range’s vital role in Minnesota’s and the nation’s economic future while continuing to maintain the rules and regulations to keep people and the environment safe.”

This bill must pass the Senate and be signed by the president before it becomes a law.
