Rep. Mike Wiener Statement on February Budget Forecast

Saint Paul – Representative Mike Wiener, R-Long Praire, released the following statement on the February budget forecast.

“Friday’s forecast gives us a real opportunity to pass a tax conformity bill that delivers commonsense relief including no tax on tips and no tax on overtime. Minnesotans are already paying more than enough. The focus should be on lowering costs, not raising taxes or growing government.

The looming deficit is still there. We still have a spending problem. Last year’s work helped, but there is more to do. Pro-growth, pro-business policies, not higher taxes, are how we dig out of the mess created over the last few years.”
