Rep. Max Rymer Statement on Walz Declining to Run for Third Term

St. Paul- Representative Max Rymer (R-North Branch) issued the following statement today following the news that Governor Walz will no longer seek a third term as governor.

“Minnesota’s fraud problem won’t stop with him. It is the result of nearly two decades of Democrat governors, supported by their legislative colleagues, who created the fraud that has cost Minnesotans billions of dollars. This includes Senator Amy Klobuchar, who has never stopped the fraudulent funds from flowing or called out Minnesota’s abuse of federal funds going to fraudsters.”

“Walz stepping out of the race will not fix the broken system. Real fraud reform demands a full reset not a new face overseeing the same operation that has already cost taxpayers billions. Should Senator Amy Klobuchar be appointed into the Democrat nomination for governor as Kamala Harris was for president, we will see the same endless fraud, lack of law enforcement support, and reckless spending that put Minnesota in precarious position in the first place. For Minnesota, voting Republican is of practical importance to turn our state around in 2026.”
