Rep. Jim Nash Statement on Recent Fraud Scandals

Saint Paul, MN – State Representative and House GOP Whip Jim Nash, R-Waconia, issued the following statement today after a string of troubling fraud-related stories reported by local media, including revelations that a Liberian government official was operating at least 24 group homes in Minnesota, sex trafficking victims were used as fake employees to scam taxpayers, incomplete applications were approved for Minnesota Promise grants, and a Feeding Our Future defendant is facing more jail time for witness tampering:

“If anyone still doubts that Minnesota has earned a reputation as the fraud capital of America under Tim Walz and the Democrats, these headlines should erase those doubts,” said Nash. “The scandals continue to pile up at an alarming rate, with each new revelation raising even more questions about the lack of accountability in state government. Minnesota needs a fundamental change in how state government operates, and that change has to start with leadership. Governor Walz has just five months left in office. The DFL still has an opportunity to take responsibility, demand accountability, and address the culture of fraud that has grown under their administration, but given their track record, I’m not holding my breath.”
