Rep. Davis Condemns Minnesota Supreme Court Ruling in Powerlifting Case

Representative Ben Davis (R–Mission Twp.) issued the following statement reacting to this morning’s Minnesota Supreme Court decision:

“This is a perversion of justice by a radical left court. Men don’t belong in girls’ locker rooms. Men don’t belong in girls’ sports. Title IX was written to protect and uphold that truth. This decision is an insult to female athletes who train, compete, and sacrifice to earn a fair shot. I will continue working with my Republican colleagues to pass legislation that protects girls from these unfair policies. While Democrats have opposed our common-sense efforts at every turn, they can’t stop us from fighting for what’s right and what’s sensible.” 

Both House File 12 and House File 1233 would have addressed this issue, but were blocked by House Democrats. These bills remain ready for action when the House reconvenes on February 17, 2026.
