DHS Provider Accountability & Response Portal
Fraud in Minnesota has come in many forms and for a host of reasons. One of the most basic culprits is poor administration and oversight from the Department of Human Services. The administrative shortcomings did not end this fall when a new prepayment review system was implemented for 14 high risk Medicaid programs – they took a new form that has severely impacted many (if not all) service providers who have been serving their communities with integrity for years. Legislators in Minnesota have heard desperate stories from service providers in their districts, but it hasn’t been enough. Service providers have closed and many are on the brink. We’re forming a new strategy to try and help – this portal is meant to serve as a place to bring your many stories from across the state into one place. Help us help you – at least, please share your stories so we can understand the reality on the ground; at most, we can come together, synthesize your stories, demand action now in clear, actionable ways and hopefully help build a better system for tomorrow.
REMINDER: Many types of data held by the government are not public. That includes educational data, medical data, data on people receiving public benefits, some grant data, and a variety of other information. While specific details about potential fraud may be important to criminal investigations, providing information about potential fraud does not mean potential whistleblowers can share data that is confidential or otherwise protected. Please avoid sharing that type of detailed information unless that information comes from a public source.
