Perryman returns to Capitol for start of 2026 session

ST. PAUL – Minnesota’s 2026 legislative session began Tuesday and Rep. Bernie Perryman, R-St. Cloud, said it’s good to be back at the Capitol to address the state’s fraud problem and other key issues.
| “I’m excited to dig in at the Capitol after spending the last several months back home receiving input from local residents on a variety of issues,” Perryman said. “At just 12 weeks, this session is going to fly by, so we better hit the ground running. Let’s hope the 2026 session gets off to a better start than 2025 did when half the House boycotted the first 23 days of session. “This is not an official budget year, with the state fully funded through the end of this two-year cycle. That means we will have more time this session to focus on addressing other important subjects, such as cracking down on fraud that has been running wild in Minnesota, costing taxpayers billions of dollars.” Perryman said House Republicans recently shared a list of priorities for the 2026 legislative session. They include: -Stop the Fraud -Make Minnesota Affordable -Make Minnesota Safe -Raise Standards, Reduce Mandates -Make Minnesota Competitive -Minnesota Tax Dollars for Minnesotans Perryman continues serving as vice chair of the Commerce Finance and Policy Committee and also remains a member of the House Health Finance and Policy Committee. She said she welcomes correspondence throughout the session and encourages District 14A residents to call (651) 296-6316 or email rep.bernie.perryman@house.mn.gov to get in touch. |
