Nash statement on O’Malley fraud report

ST. PAUL – This week, Director of Program Integrity Tim O’Malley, who was recently appointed to implement a statewide fraud prevention program, announced a “final report” and and the conclusion of his role. Representative Jim Nash, R-Waconia, released the following statement.

“The Governor tried to take a victory lap on fraud when he announced that he’d be appointing Tim O’Malley to implement a statewide fraud prevention program. Now we’ve come to find out that in reality, the Governor actually just paid an unknown amount of money for a report full of things we already knew, with no actual fraud prevention program in sight. We know fraud exists, and we know agencies have been ignoring fraud prevention recommendations for decades. Just because Democrats seem to be finding this out for the first time doesn’t mean we should waste taxpayer dollars to tell us things House Republicans have been sounding the alarm on for over a decade.”
