Leader Niska statement on Walz’s dangerous rhetoric

ST. PAUL – Following the Governor’s press conference where he blamed Republicans for “misinformation” and implied they were responsible for the federal government’s actions requiring action on stopping fraud, Leader Harry Niska, R-Ramsey, released the following statement.
“Governor Walz today implied that Republicans’ warnings about fraud will cause the suffering of Minnesotans following the federal government’s Medicaid freeze. The Walz administration is aware that just this week an individual was arrested for making violent threats against Republican lawmakers. That individual echoed much of the same rhetoric the governor used today. The Governor has also repeatedly made comments calling Republicans Nazis, calling law enforcement the Gestapo, and joking about the death of the President. Governor Walz needs to stop using hateful and inflammatory rhetoric before he incites more political violence here in Minnesota.”
