House GOP Leader Niska condemns protest chaos at Republican Party event

ST. PAUL – Following an outburst at the MN Republican Party’s Lincoln-Reagan dinner where screaming protesters stormed the stage attempting to shout down House Speaker Lisa Demuth and other Republicans, House GOP Leader Harry Niska, R-Ramsey, released the following statement.
“Last year we saw Democrat legislators try to shut down a bipartisan budget deal by storming the Governor’s office, last session we saw angry outbursts and hateful rhetoric from Democrats on the House Floor, and last night we saw the same reprehensible behavior from protesters attempting to shout down the Speaker of the House. This kind of action is despicable, and it’s turning into a pattern of hateful rhetoric and disruption from extreme far-left Democrats. This kind of hateful, anti-speech behavior is absolutely unacceptable, and Minnesotans deserve better.”
