House GOP Health Committee Chairs Issue Statement on Medicaid Conformity

St. Paul, MN — House Health Finance Co-Chair Jeff Backer, R-Browns Valley, and House Human Services Co-Chair Joe Schomacker, R-Luverne, released the following joint statement reacting to Governor Tim Walz’s supplemental budget proposal and the growing urgency around Medicaid conformity:

“We are encouraged to see Governor Walz include Medicaid conformity in his supplemental budget proposal and reinforcing the urgency of getting this done. Medicaid conformity should not be a partisan issue. The longer we delay, the more we risk critical federal funding that Minnesotans rely on. We look forward to moving past the rhetoric and talking points to get this done.”
