Rep. Ben Davis and Republican Legislators Urge Federal Action to Address Minnesota’s Fraud Epidemic

Representative Ben Davis (R–Mission Twp.) announced today that he and fellow Republican legislators have sent a formal letter to President Donald Trump, calling for swift federal action to confront Minnesota’s growing fraud crisis.

“Minnesota can no longer bear the cost of the Walz administration’s negligence. Waiting until November 2026 is too long to address this crisis. We urge the federal government to intervene now and halt the heist of our tax dollars,” said Rep. Davis.

The letter highlights that fraud in Minnesota’s state-run programs has already cost taxpayers hundreds of millions and is expected to exceed $1 billion as more cases are prosecuted. Lawmakers are urging President Trump to ensure additional federal resources are directed to Acting U.S. Attorney Joe Thompson and to support the Senate’s confirmation of Daniel Rosen as Minnesota’s next U.S. Attorney.
