Speaker Demuth statement regarding DHS pause on ICS payments

St. Paul, MN- Following news that the Department of Human Services had paused payments within yet another fraud-riddled program, House Speaker Lisa Demuth, R-Cold Spring, released the following statement.

“It’s clear there are widespread problems within Governor Walz’s DHS, with yet another program being halted due to pervasive fraud. It’s time for the Governor to start holding people accountable right now – not just when he’s worried about what they’ll say in a committee hearing. There should be a full accounting for programs within DHS to root out fraud proactively and fundamentally change the systems that are allowing this massive fraud scheme within so many DHS programs.”
