Rep. Ron Kresha Highlights Aviation Legislation

St. Paul, MN — Rep. Ron Kresha is advancing a series of aviation-focused proposals this session aimed at supporting Minnesota’s airports, protecting local decision-making, and strengthening rural infrastructure.

“Minnesota has one of the strongest general aviation networks in the country, and our local airports are essential to economic development, business travel, agriculture, and emergency response,” said Rep. Kresha. “These proposals are about supporting that network in practical, responsible ways.”

Rep. Kresha’s aviation package includes:

• HF3266 — Provides $100,000 to assist small airports with maintenance and repair of airport courtesy vehicles, which are critical for serving pilots and visitors in rural communities.
• Special Aviation License Plates — Establishes aviation-themed license plates, with proceeds supporting airport and aeronautics-related initiatives.
• Airport Fuel Autonomy — Prohibits the state from imposing fuel restrictions on airports, ensuring local airports can manage their own fuel supply based on operational and safety needs.
• Aeronautics Support Legislation — Strengthens state support for small airports and aviation infrastructure to maintain Minnesota’s competitiveness and connectivity.

While HF3266 has been formally introduced, the remaining proposals are in the process of being drafted and filed.
